Using Energy Therapy for Radical Spiritual Change

Using Energy Therapy for Radical Spiritual Change

Energy healing is an ancient practice that has recently been recognized by the mainstream. It works wonders for those who are on a spiritual quest – and those who are simply open minded.

Energy healings go beyond the surface of our being and deal with the subtle energies that move through and around us.

This holistic approach not only heals but also awakens our deepest spiritual potential.

The Dance of Emotions in Energy Work

In energy work, it is important to note that emotions are different from feelings, yet many people usually miss this point. Emotions are immediate, raw responses to life events that might seem overwhelming, like unrelenting tidal waves.

Once they have passed, what remains are feelings – subtler companions that stay with us for some time. They give voice to what we cannot put into words, helping us coordinate self-understanding.

During energy work, individuals often release trapped emotions, which can give rise to a feeling of deep peace and greater awareness. These emotional releases have a profound cleansing effect on our spirits and physical bodies – often helping us release the effects of the prior traumas in our lives.

Feelings, however, represent whispers from our souls. They’re not just random reactions but deeper conversations with ourselves about who we really are. When something happens to us, and we feel unsettled, feelings spring forth, inviting sensory perceptions about the self, others, those involved, etc.

Sometimes our feelings become quite complex, and, therefore, difficult to dissolve and release. Working with our feelings and dissecting them into specific, tangible emotions, we can uproot all of the hidden and limiting aspects within us.

After emotional release, inner peace tends to rise, followed by love, then acceptance, then a resounding healing. These softer sentiments act like signposts, helping us understand the breadth of our journeys.

Common Energy Healing Modalities

There are several ways to practice energy healing. Below are some popular forms:

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation which also promotes healing. This is done by “laying on hands” with the belief that unseen Qi or life force can be activated to heal and uplift us. The healer acts as a conduit for universal compassion and the receiver benefits immensely.

Acupuncture

Born from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into the skin at strategic points on the body. Among acupuncture’s main principles is that there are meridians – channels through which vital energy called Qi (pronounced chee) flows in our bodies.

When these pathways become imbalanced or blocked, illnesses occur. Thus, by needling and stimulating specific sites, we can restore equilibrium and the flow of Qi.

Shamanic Healing

This type of healing has been practiced for thousands of years. It involves the shaman traveling to a spiritual dimension outside our physical world to find lost parts of the soul, eliminate negative energies, disable dark spirits, and restore balance. Shamanic healing might also include rituals, drumming, using sacred plant medicine, and calling on spirits for help during the healing process.

Crystal Healing

Crystals or gemstones work by balancing the energetic fields around our bodies through vibrational frequency therapy. Each stone is a living entity emitting a specific type of energy or existing within a specific frequency.

Unique and beneficial crystals are placed on or around specific parts of your body. They may also be held near certain areas while focusing attention there. These stones act as natural batteries, alignment tools, and cleaning agents. They align with universal forces, connect us with the purest energy within us, and partner with us to help us heal ourselves.

Pranic Therapy

The human aura is cleared and recharged in pranic healing. The practitioner will scan energy levels within you, remove any stuck or blocked Qi, and recharge depleted areas with prana (life force). As Master Choa Kok Sui says, “Your overall health depends on your energy system.” If you can awaken and enliven your energy system (Qi, prana, life force), you can achieve miracles.

Spirits Work Through Us To Help Us Heal

Most energy healers believe themselves to be conduits for higher spiritual forces. They divine energy to flow through them for people’s well-being. Their connection with the other realms adds layers of divine magic, making this practice sacred and powerful.

During sessions, it is often mentioned that a presence can be felt; these could be spirit guides, angels, or even ancestors who have come to help us heal. Such loving beings are thought to assist in healing by giving us specific directions and protecting us throughout the process.

A healer of this type is akin to a medium – one who can generate, amplify, and call forth the curative spirits and aspects of All Creation.

Gabor Maté and His Peers’ Findings

Dr. Gabor Maté tells us that mental-emotional trauma can lead to physical illness – and that energy healing can help us release the stuck emotions and free ourselves of the energies that inhibit our healing.

According to Maté, getting into the roots of our old wounds can contribute to spiritual growth. He promotes trauma-informed, spirituality-based interventions that access our deeply seated traumatic experiences and foster genuine recovery and transformation.

In his book “When The Body Says No,” Dr. Maté talks about how chronic diseases are caused by suppressing feelings and not dealing with emotional traumas. He believes our deep awareness and desire for resolution can greatly improve emotional and physical health.

The Adventure That Is Energy Healing

Energy healing isn’t just another fancy technique – it offers a profound journey toward self-discovery and spiritual growth. Through engaging with this and other modes of therapy, we allow ourselves to undergo deep shifts and awaken to our most authentic selves – recognizing the divinity within and around us.
